Every time we came to visit Lowells, she welcomed us and sometimes invited us for a meal. I love the memories. My mom loves people too, and in the recent years took up piecing and quilting. Shortly afterwards, I came across your blog and realized what I had missed!!! I still regret that lost opportunity to get to know you and hope I have learned a lesson!!! Your give-away is very special. My mom is a tea-drinker, too, or at least she was up until this past summer when she discovered the joys of coffee! I suppose either drink will do while fixing puzzles, another Winter pastime Mom enjoys! The things your mom likes are right down my alley. God bless you, Bethany, for turning this hard time into a way to bless someone else.Joanna H.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965058869520151871.post-28835970733862199272014-12-14T12:10:14.949-11:002014-12-14T12:10:14.949-11:00I'm new to your blog, but have been enjoying i...I'm new to your blog, but have been enjoying it ever since I discovered it through a link from Dorcas Smucker's blog.
I decided you and I have some things in common...
You see, my mom died in October,2012, and tomorrow (Dec.15) would've been her 80th birthday. So I've also been missing her even more right now. I usually try to reach out to someone that day as well. (Tomorrow a friend is coming over for coffee.)
As to what my mom loved, that would be her family, and piecing quilts. (I have precious memories of the two of us piecing my quilt for me.)
Blessings to you and yours.Ellie Millernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965058869520151871.post-18459484792239175702014-12-14T10:13:17.288-11:002014-12-14T10:13:17.288-11:00I love this idea! I've been reading your blog for a number of months since my sister told me about it and have enjoyed it. I don't do comments, ok, but this idea, I thought, was such a special way for you to remember your Mom's B-day! I couldn't help but blessing you for your willingness to reach out to others during this difficult and painful time of remembering a special time without your Mom. Have you been wondering who the visitor to your blog is from Nairobi, Kenya?? Well, it's me, Maria (Yoder) Wagler, originally from TX and our Mother's knew each other well, and in our younger years we played together from time to time!:-)
Anyway, for something my Mom likes... well that would have to be her big garden and flower beds! She always has such cheery flowers and plants on her porch to great you as you arrive at her house!
Be Blessed!Marianoreply@blogger.com
